i love thanksgiving for many reasons.
1) the fooood yummm-ay. i dont dig the poultry too much but i LOVE potatoes and macaroni and PUMPKIN PIE. ohhmygosh. you have no idea how much i love pumpkin pie!
2) i always feel warm and fuzzy during thanksgiving because it's such a family holiday. and i really feel do thankful about a lot of things.
3) NO SCHOOL! 'nuff said.
unfortunately, this year, i might end up being verry worried about my darn uc/usc apps. hopefully i'll finish before break. but at this moment i have no will to finish my usc app as it has all poof deleted on me. sigh, i'll try again tomorrow.
buut speaking of thanks..
at church on friday we had a kinda laidback-not-really-praise-but-kinda where pastor esther encouraged us to just stand and thank God for something that we were sincerely thankful for. OHMAN, i thought soo hard about this. i mean, there are SO many things im thankful for all the time. and youknow how it's become habit to start of all your prayers with "Dear God, thank you for this day" or "Dear God, thank you for ____________" eh? loll but i sincerely DO try and thank God for my family and friends and life EVERYDAY. so i thought, hm, i need to think of something that i'm seriously thankful for that i dont realize. i thought of the pretty sky that day, the good weather, the way things had just been "clicking" that week (dont you LOVE those moments?) and i was like, why dont i just thank God for all the little things? so that's what i stood up and said. i have no idea WHY but i got really nervous when i stood up. those of you that know me well might know that generally, i'm okay with talking in front of people but for some reason i got really anxious and i started talking RAPIDFIRE. hahaha, when i get antsy, i talk REALLY fast.
example: in 6th grade, we used to play games like "Around the World", which is kind of like a race, and i'd get soo panicky. well anyways, after the game, we were grading our tests and my teacher called on me to read the answers. so i went down the list of A, B, C, D, or E's and read the answers. i didn't think there was anything wrong. but after i finished it was kinda silent. and this boy raised his hand and was like ".......what? can you repeat that... all?" and my teacher was shocked too. he was like "let's time you!!" he's a very interesting teacher. so he put 10 random numbers on the projector and timed how fast i read it. i think it was just about 1 second. paha
anyways, that was a maaaaaaaajor tangent.
soo, i stood up but i got antsy and talked really fast and didn't get to say everything i wanted to! and it was awkward. haha. when will i ever overcome my awkwardness.
but what i WANTED to say was thank you God for all the little things in life that we forget to be thankful for. like how pretty the stars look at night, or how pretty trees and flowers look, or how i am healthy and whole, or the way some things just "work out".
i am especially thankful for the beauties of nature. whenever i go on a walk around my neighborhood& am completely relieved, i notice things i usually dont. like clouds and the color of the sky. how marvelous is God's work? i remember VBS from when i was in like 4th grade? the theme was "God's great gallery". such an appropriate metaphor. everything in our world is God's work of art. the people, the animals, the sound of laughter, the plants, the sky, the sound of birds, the clouds, EVERYTHING. if you're an art fanatic and think Van Gogh and Mozart were geniuses, think about God's work. it's like 1000000000000x's better.
sigh. i was looking through my pictures from europe and i was amazed at some of the most beautiful pictures i got of the sky and the buildings. at first, i was all "daaaaamn, check out my pictures, i'm the shit!" PAHA, but then i realized that 1) EVERYTHING is prettier in europe anyways 2) my camera was nice (RIP camera, i lost it :[) 3) i shouldn't take credit, all due credit goes to God! i didn't make the clouds to look like that! (though i wish i could.. when i was little i wanted to be a cloud designer... no joke)
anyways. here are some of the pictures:)
definitely my FAVE from the trip. there is NO photoshop. the fantasy-like pinkish shine is actually the glare from our buses window haha. pic= rural slovakia

another favorite. the best part is that this was totally an accident. i was trying to take a pic of me and my friend lol. icecream/gelato/"lody" was a key part of our trip.

this was at the polish botanical gardens. suuch a pretty place. i just wish my finger didnt ruin the picture...

&finally this picture is completely ethereal. doesn't it look like lights from heaven?

that's all folks! and HEEEY. tonight is a perfect night to witness God's work. METEOR SHOWER!!
