another rambling post about whaz happenin these days.
june 6, 2010: baccalaureate. twas a ridiculously sunny beautiful day.. not so beautiful wearing a insulating black robe in an unventilated gym with about 500 other people. joh, paik, and i played our trio! even though im still a bit miffed that we werent chosen for grad i think we rocked baccalaureate and acoustics definitely sounded crazy. check it out here-- http://www.facebook.com/michellebaii#!/video/video.php?v=1487046580432
june 10, 2010: graduation. also my first speeding ticket. goddamn, i hate cops. cant deny that my graduation was significantly ruined by that stupid ticket (plus the lakers lost -___-) but i guess it made my graduation more memorable? i sat with my silly cap and gown in the huge audience on my phone simultaneously checking the laker score and looking up how to evade speeding tickets/ going to court loll. and while i waited for my crappy reception phone to load, i thought back on my 8th grade grad when my mom got ridiculously mad at me for some reason and almost didnt let me go to grad. so, of course, i thought to myself "dang, graduations suck" hahaha logical no? im just worried about college grad now! anywhoo, as soon as i told my parents about my ticket after grad and got it off my chest, smoooth sailing. and then GRADNITE! what a night. we basically got knotts to ourselves and it was great spending time with the friends that i love and riding rides and stuffing my face. those opportunities dont come around often.
it still hasnt really hit me yet. i feel like monday morning ima wake up at 6:40 and speed to paiks house and be late for zero period, as always... i dunno, graduation felt really short too. maybe because i was wasting away my time on my cell phone? we'll see when i finally start to realize that high schools over. either way, im suuuper excited for this summer! it'll be busy and i'll have no free time, but im happy:) last summer was an idle summer and it was boring. i have vbs, korea, missions, retreat. and training/practice in between! wheee.
now, more about my ticket. first of all, the cop was a dick for pulling me over on my graduation and giving me a ticket for going 40 in a residential. yes, i know, i was over the speedlimit by 15mph but honestly, with a hill like the one i was driving up, my poor chazmobile cant make it going under 40! and yea, i was in a hurry. so he pulls me over and im freaking out and he's like "oh, are you guys going to your graduation?" and i thought YES! potential pleading topic. so i say "yes, im REALLY sorry officer it's just we're late!" and he goes "doesnt the ceremony start at 6?" damn. got me. "umm, yea but we have to get there by 5:15" (truth) and he goes "oh okay. i'll let you girls go in a little bit" and i was like hes going to let me go?? YESSS. and he goes to his car, writes me a ticket, gives it to me, and THEN says "okay, girls, ima let you go now, congratulations" asshole. but this experience was, i think, a wakeup call from God. it could have been a lot worse. first of all, i almost forgot to take my license because we're not supposed to take our wallets. but last minute i remembered to grab it. secondly, i didnt have my insurance card -___- apparently i would have been royally screwed but he let me go cus it was my grad (yea, real generous...) and also this is the most ideal time to get a ticket because im getting a lot of money from my relatives because of grad. i know im not good with money and though im not pleased that i'll be paying for more dickhead officers to catch poor teenagers, im going to pretend it's for AMERICA and just be glad im not blowing off the money at least.
