haha. about 2 minutes ago i opened a new post, wrote a couple lines and then erased them because i had no idea what to write about and went to facebook instead. and lo-and-behold. hyunjeankim had written on my status (which was some variation of me stating that i did not want to study gov) "update your blog instead!"
loll so that is why i am back. hello hyunjean!

since hyunjean wrote that and because i ate lunch with her and paik today. i decided today i was going to write about two of my oldest friends : D

when i lived in torrance, a long time ago, i went to la primera preschool. it was a pleasant preschool from what little i remember. it had bikes and a little tunnel to ride the bikes through, sandboxes, toys, and nice teachers. i dont remember how but one day during recess or lunch i met a girl named hyunjean kim. she was very bubbly. and... little (compared to me though, who isnt? lol sorry hyunjeaan). i dont know how we got talking but we did and we played together. after that we talked before/after school and since we didnt have the same recess we tried to convince our teachers to let one of us change recess times so that we could hangout (future lawyers?). but that was fail. we also both went to tfpc so we got to see each other a lot.
one time, afterschool, i think i was either waiting to get picked up or i was going over to her house but she brought her other friend who didnt go to our preschool. i remember the girl was super quiet and shy and that hyunjean introduced her as "michelle too!" haha. this girl was michelle paik. i remember being slightly irritated that she had the same name as me (because that made the ohsospecial me all the less unique) and also irritated that she was quiet (hyunjean and i were more.. boisterous) but she also went to tfpc so after some time the three of us became really good friends.

the best memories i have of hanging out with the two of them are always at hyunjeans old torrance house. daang that house was huge and had all the amenities to make it the perfect house for little children to have adventures. we slid down banisters, played hide and seek (someone ALWAYS hid in the room under the stairs), watched sailor moon, ate ramen WITHOUT SLURPING(this is where paiks addiction starts), and played handball against the garage or draw with chalk outside. we were funny kids always trying to squeeze more time out of our parents for "just 5 more minuteessss!!!" because somehow we thought that five minutes= plenty. haha and when parents came to pick their respective children up we'd wheedle and whine asking them to sit down and have tea or eat fruits (which they usually did). also after church EVERY SUNDAY, without fail, we'd whine and beg to eat lunch together or get a playdate, so much, in fact, that my mom accused me of going to church only on the basis that i might get to hangout with one or both of them loll. basically we were annoying kids that enjoyed each others' company too much. ha

and that's how it's been for 14?15? years now. we've stayed friends through the time i moved all the way to northridge, the time our church split (numerously), the time we went to different elementary schools but all came to the same middle school, and even the times when somebody "copied me and got the same sailor moon doll" (i never had any sailor moon dolls, but hyunjean and michelle did :[ sad me). the funny thing? even today, we beg and plead for sleepovers, we talk about life, we talk about boys, we talk about the weirdest randomest things and laugh. if someone were to record our conversations they would think that we were mental. it'd probably start off with a normal converstaion about whatever, get super off topic, have some part where im hitting paik, another part where hyunjeans crying cus she's laughing so hard, a lot of weird noises, and then end with someone getting hurt (LOL). you guys have no idea.

i want to keep writing but this is already super long and im sure it'd never end. so i will just write a little bit about each one individually. haha

michellepaik: i actually really dont remember how we met besides that day that hyunjean introduced us. i think even after she introduced us, we werent like super close so i dont know when we actually became good friends. but this girl, ohmygoshh is the closest thing i have to a sister (besides hyunjeeeean). we both have the strangest ideas for fun. these include making videos of ourselves singing songs and making faces and laughing at my dads stomach, making books filled with notes and weird cartoon faces, sitting on the floor and doing nothing, eating (SO FUN), obsessing over bigbang and our respective future husbands, making spam musubi, and driving to-- and getting lost in-- santa monica (that was only once hahaha). she has a bad habit of falling asleep WHILE IM TALKING tO HER during sleepovers and even while she's RUNNING- yes, RUNNING, she did that on my 8th birthday in northridge she just collapsed while she was having fun, hyunjean and i thought she died loll. when i drive her to school we usually dont talk but sometimes we just make weird noises back and forth because its funny. oh and while im talking to her on aim we can interrupt each other and it doesnt even matter because we both know the other one is listening hahaa. we're similar in a lot of ways, and not, in many other ways. we're both forgetful, we both love food and greentea ice cream, we love genghis kahn, we crave mcdonalds (ice coffee and fries), and we cant live without sushi. if she were a boy, she'd be my soulmate hahaa.

hyunjeankim: (aka bobunjean and jeanieweenie (she HATED that)) it's kinda funny when you look back on our friendship because we went to preschool together, seperated for elementary, i moved, BUT we both moved to pv the same year, and now we're neighbors. haha if i hadnt become good friends with her in preschool and just knew of her, i would think she's stalking me. she is my otheer sister from anotha mistaa. haha and she's similar to me in all other ways that michelle wasnt. i swear, personalitywise, if hyunjean and michelle were mixed together, a minime would pop up. we were always the more athletic and crazy ones (paik was too reasonable to be convinced to slide down the banister though she claims she eventually did, i dont believe it). she was usually the mastermind of all our crazy adventures she had a wild imagination and lots of energy and spunk. hahaha the funniest thing i remember is when the three of us ate ramen in her kitchen she would get soo mad if we slurped our noodles loll. hyunjean and i were probably closer when we were younger because we were both torrance people and were both almost equally out of our minds. haha. i love talking to her and we used to go on bikerides around our neighborhood or walks where we just talked about life. i also remember how we leaned on each other soo much during 6th grade as we were both not part of "the VG group" which consisted of pretty much everybody else in the school. we had our own notebook with random notes and crazyy writing. we played tennis together (same coach!) and complained about how "mean" our moms were all the time. we had to cope with being genius paik's friends and being compared to her for everything and anything and once, she smashed my face. HAHAHAHA maybe i'll write about that later.

basically, the three of us were and have been best friends foreverrr. we know and always muse about how its strange that we're all so different but we've come to realize that we all balance each other out. (ex: hyunjean= super athletic, me= athletic, michelle=...challenged loll. paik= genius hyunjean= smart me=... challenged. me= tall paik= normal hyunjean= challenged, i mean, short (well, it used to be like that). me= aggressive hyunjean= assertive paik= challenged (aka passive) lol it could go on foreverr) but together we make a super team and i hope next year, with college and all, nothing will change.
